1. What is Utilita?
Utilita is an all-in-one app designed for fast, secure, and convenient cash transfer and payment of utility services including electricity, airtime, data, TV subscriptions, betting, education fees, and more.
2. Who can use Utilita?
Anyone in Nigeria with a smartphone and a valid phone number can use Utilita.
3. How do I register on Utilita?
Download the app from the Play Store or App Store. Open the app, enter your phone number, verify with OTP, and complete your profile.
4. Is Utilita free to use?
Yes, the app is free to download and use. You may incur service charges depending on the type of transaction.
5. How do I reset my password or PIN?
Tap "Forgot Password" or "Forgot PIN" on the login screen, enter your registered email or phone number, and follow the steps to reset securely.
6. How do I update my profile?
Go to the "Account" section and tap on the section of your profile you wish to edit and follow the steps to edit your profile.
7. How secure is Utilita?
We use bank-level encryption, 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), and real-time fraud monitoring to protect your data and funds.
8. What should I do if I suspect fraud or unauthorized access?
Immediately change your PIN and contact our support team via in-app chat, email, or call.
9. How do I fund my Utilita wallet?
From the home screen, tap ‘Add Money’ then select either USSD, Debit card, or Bank Transfer. Follow the prompts and your wallet will be credited instantly.
10. Are there limits to how much I can fund or withdraw?
Yes, limits apply based on your account level. You can increase limits by verifying your identity (KYC).
11. How do I send money from my wallet?
From the home screen, tap ‘Send Money’ > select the bank or Utilita you intend to transfer to > the bank account name will be verified instantly > Enter the amount > click ‘Send Money’ > Verify with your PIN and the receiver will be credited instantly.
12. How do I buy electricity on Utilita?
Tap “Electricity” > Swipe to select your DISCO (e.g. IKEDC, AEDC) > Enter meter number > Amount > Confirm.
13. How long does it take to receive my token?
Most tokens are delivered instantly. In rare cases, it can take up to 10 minutes.
14. What should I do if I don’t get my token?
Contact support with your transaction ID. We’ll resolve it ASAP.
15. Can I buy airtime for all networks?
Yes. Utilita supports MTN, Glo, Airtel, and 9mobile.
16. Is there a cashback for airtime or data?
From time to time, we run promos. Stay tuned on our social media and app notifications.
17. Which TV services are supported?
Utilita supports DSTV, GOTV, and Startimes. More services will be added soon.
18. How do I renew my TV subscription?
Go to “TV” > Select provider > Enter Smart Card number > Choose a plan > Pay.
19. Can I pay school or exam fees?
Yes. Utilita lets you pay for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and partner schools. More institutions are being onboarded.
20. Can I fund betting accounts?
Yes, you can fund Gobet247, Bet9ja, SportyBet, and others. Just go to “Betting” and select the provider.
21. What if the wallet is not credited?
Sometimes there's a slight delay. If it takes longer than 15 minutes, contact support.
22. I was debited but my service wasn't delivered. What do I do?
Most failed transactions are automatically reversed. If not, send the transaction ID to support.
23. How do I view my transaction history?
Go to “Transactions” in your dashboard to see all payment history.
